Natalie Ciccoricco is a Dutch collage artist, living in California. After moving to the United States in 2012, Natalie started making mixed media collages and illustrations inspired by her new surroundings. Her work is characterized by her use of embroidery thread in combination with other materials such as old books, magazines, photographs and other ephemera.

Her mixed media works are all original, analog works that consist of embroidery thread in combination with other materials. While in college, Natalie received a large bag of embroidery thread from her mom, which came with a tin she bought at an antique store. It inspired Natalie to use it as a creative means to express herself by weaving together new narratives on paper.

Natalie loves to experiment with unusual and discarded materials in combination with embroidery thread. In her work you’ll often see old images, books, magazines, natural materials and ephemera being re-used. In doing so, it is her hope to bring new life to these materials, so they can be enjoyed and appreciated once again. For her artworks, she draws inspiration from her dreams, nature, arts, literature and her travels.
